Social Emotional Learning at AISB!
Ms. Ed's Counseling Site
It is so exciting to be here starting a brand new year with you at AISB!
Right now we are busy with making sure our pencils are sharpened, our alarms are set, our clothes have been picked out the night before, our folders are neat and tidy, and our lunches have been carefully packed. Many of you may be wondering just how long this honeymoon period of being "on top of things" will last.
NOW IS THE TIME to create those good habits that will carry you throughout the rest of your school year! Get those procedures in place and make sure everyone knows what goes where and who is in charge of what and when this or that must happen. Your child's amazing classroom teacher is setting up their policies and procedures right now, because they know that doing this is the key to success. Let this mindset carry over to your home. Find a spot for homework to be done and make sure it is a quiet spot with the materials needed for each day. Decide who is in charge of picking out that gorgeous outfit for school and make sure that some clean socks are included! Make a plan on lunch for the week so that you can grab what you need when you are at the grocery store. It will take a bit of work on the front end, but having a plan in place can make all the difference.
